An extension to the living area for people who love the outdoors and feeling connected to nature - an indoor space that felt like it was outdoors.

One of the key design drivers for this project was to create a space that effortlessly spilled from inside to outside. With both the walls and flooring linking the spaces by running seamlessly from the conservatory through to the interior. The natural finish block wall along the site boundary, extending beyond the edges of the interior extension, increases in porousness to gradually open to the gardens on either side. Glazing was also used to ensure visual connection to the surrounding garden and sky, and large doors to provide physical connection. Exposed timber framing provides visual interest and continues outside creating a shade structure while further blurring the transition between what is typically inside and outside.
